Beautifully written, with a twist to the tale I've come to enjoy with this authors writing.
Loved this book. Excellent story development and very fast reading. I would recommend it.

The odd couple, for sure. This is why I read romance novels - because the characters develop and show that they have grown through the events in the novel. Each has tapped into some healing within themselves and is now able to allow another into their life. I would like to know this couple in five or ten years!
A nice little tale with characters who were well developed and also likable. This author is a very good story teller.
I love historical romance it is my favourite. I also liked that the the hero and the heroine are older. The hero is kind of gruff but he has a hard time expressing his feelings. And the heroine doesn't like him at first but as she gets to know him better she falls in love with him. It was a sweet story.
Carolyn Jewel is one of those authors who has such a gorgeous style of writing; every thought, every word, every description is perfection. Edith and her duke are so lovely together, both trying to fight their feelings as they fall in love. I read this book a few years ago, then saw it in an email (possibly from BookBub?), and decided to read it again. So glad I did - I loved it, and I think you will, too.
